At all signs print & design Cairns, we print using both Offset and Digital print methods. Knowing which process to choose is like choosing between apples and oranges. Each process has it’s place in today’s fast paced environment. Knowing which process suits your needs is where our expertise comes into action.
Which Process?
The differences between the two processes can determine how to print your order. The quantity required and turn around time are obviously key considerations, however as offset printing offers the ability to specify pantone colour referecnes and the ability to colour match colour. This may actually be the better choice to achieve the desired results. If consistent colour from one print run to the next print run, is important to the integrity of your brand, offset printing would be your choice.
Offset:
Offset printing uses ink and plates to transfer an image onto paper via CMYK files. It produces high quality cost effective results for long print runs.
A single page A4 brochure would require a minimum quantity of 500 copies to be cost effective via offset printing, however we do offer a small run of 250, if required.
Digital:
Digital printing can print both CMYK and RGB files, although colour shift may occur with RGB content. Short runs of any quantity 250 to 1000 copies are typical for digital printing. As a digital printer requires no printing plates, there is less time involved in setting up a file to print.
