Vehicle Signage Design

Vehicle Signage Design

Make a lasting first impression

When designing for a vehicle you need to consider the factors that most affect the final look of your vehicle. The most important thing to keep in mind while choosing a designer is picking someone with experience in vehicle signage/wrap design.  Each vehicle has its own individual quirks that the designer must take into consideration or the design could turning out beautiful on paper however not work on the actual car.  allsigns print & design Cairns, professional vehicle sign designers know how to avoid the pitfalls – like placing faces over door handles or cutting off important information.  Just think of your favorite sports car.  All those nooks, crannies and curves have to be taken into careful account when designing the right vehicle signs for your fleet.

When it comes to the actual design of your vehicle signs, remember that your artwork needs to be read at a variety of speeds and distances.  You want something that is easy to understand and visually pleasing whether your vehicle is parked or driving down the highway.  Here are a few tips to keep in mind while in the design stage of your vehicle signs / wrap:

  • Keep your messages direct and simple.  The more information, the less people will remember.
  • Use big, easy to read text.  Script font is very pretty…on wedding invitations… barely readable on a vehicle.
  • Choose a simple colour scheme that’s eye-catching, where there is a high contrast between the background and the text.  Even neon can look great when kept simple.
  • Avoid placing major design elements like logos or words around major curves or molding on the vehicle.
  • Keep in mind where the seams of the vinyl will fall. A professional installer will do everything he or she can to make the seams look invisible, however it does all starts with the design.

drivers & passenger Sides

When all signs print and design cairns put your designs together we always ensure logos, text and any important parts of your imagery/design are a clear distance from handles, lights and wheel arches on the sides of the vehicle.

Our designers consider the joins in the vehicle and work with them to create your design the last thing you wants is a letter to go missing in your name or website once installed.

It is important to remember that the Passenger Side is the mirror image of the Drivers Side, so it is common for the sides to look slightly different.  Our designers are able to still make your design look consistent and come up with creative ways to ensure the design is seamless, bearing in mind you never see both sides at the same time.

Rear & Rear window

The rear is the perfect opportunity to get your message across and contact information when your audience is parked behind you at the lights, walks behind your car and so on.

So when designing for the rear of your vehicle there are lots of factors to consider, where size and proportion is the main factor. The rear tends to be home to deep recesses, badges and very curved back windows.  There is always the option to remove badges which gives our designers a little more space to move.

Ultimately designing with the vehicle will give you successful, stand out signage, our graphic design team will ensure your message is legible and balanced with the shape of your vehicle.

Bonnet

Like the rear of your vehicle bonnets can have curves, and hard lines that should be considered. Bonnets tend to have minimal information on them. It is important to consider the placement of your design on the bonnet and how visible it will be to your audience.

curves & shape

Our design team know and understand how to design with the curves and shapes of your vehicle to really take it to the next level. All design decisions are considered and thought out for that specific vehicle.

From where we place your logo, website, contact number and message is all influenced by the shape of you car.  If it is hard to read your audience may not read it.
